BAR BREEZE - MARINE PARADE

Now Roots Cocktail bar

Images below are bar Breeze and Bar 42

This once residential Victorian terrace, built around 1845, is now home to Bar Breeze situated on the corner of Bath Place and Marine parade.

Back in the 60s it was a popular ice cream parlour and coffee bar run by a local Italian family. Prior to that, a buttery. Following a change to became licensed premises we saw the arrival of the Boat & Anchor pub, later to become Paige's bar and then Bar Breeze. Its latest (at the time of writing!) incarnation is as Bar 42.

The 42 is of course the house number.

Bar 42: A make-over by the current owner, Mark Knowles, has transformed this sea front bar into a modern meeting place and music venue with the benefit of a southerly view over the channel from its veranda.
