This once residential Victorian terrace, built
around
1845, and situated on the corner of Bath Place and
Marine Parade. Here it is pictured as the Waldoft Buttery, with
passing elephants as you do.
Back in the 60s it was a popular ice cream parlour and coffee bar
run by a local Italian family. Prior to that, a buttery.
Following a change to become licensed, a premises we saw the arrival
of the Boat & Anchor pub, later to become Paige's bar,
then Bar Breeze, Bar 42, and now at the time of writing,
Roots Cocktail Bar.
Although it's a cocktail bar, they still have beer. |
