Yates Wine
Lodge opened in 1999 and lasted until March 2008, the company citing
the newly imposed smoking ban for the drop in trade. Yates was owned
by the Laurel Pub Company.
The property, I'm given to understand, was originally a carpet
showroom. Tesco's acquired the building shortly after Yates closed,
making it an ideal proposition because of the existing alcohol
licence that went with the premises. |
