The Silver Mackerel Sports Bar
in Portland Road opened on Friday the 12th of
September 2014. Many may remember it as Morrie's Tea Room and
Restaurant, and previously a Chinese restaurant. The pictures below shows it at the beginning of the week in the rush to get it ready. Many of the High Definition TV screens are already in place. The design at present is an open plan one, with seating and tables around the edge. It later became the Portland Tap and is currently Manuka (cocktail) bar and restaurant. |

Around 2017 it
became the Portland Tap. Did serve craft ales unlike its
predecessor. Unusually it also did craft lager and cider. |
